Click on "Tools".
Then click on "Options".
Then click on "Getting Started".

Notice the change in Eudora Pro 4.0 where the terminology is now more inline with the majority of other e-mail programs, POP Account is no longer asked for. The incoming mail server and username have been separated and put into separate boxes.

Return address: username@ionix.net
Mail Server (Incoming): mail.ionix.net

If you have your own domain name, enter:

Checking Mail
Mail Server: mail.ionix.net
Login Name: username%domain.com

Incoming Mail
Leave the "Leave mail on server" box un-checked. You will download your e-mail from Ionix servers and store it on your computer. Ionix is not responsible for e-mail you leave on our servers.

Incoming Mail
Server configuration: POP
DESELECT: Leave mail on server
Authentication style: Passwords

If you select "Skip messages over __k in size" your mailbox will eventually fill up and give you problems.

Sending Mail
Fill in your SMTP server as indicated.

In the second block, if you enter the domain you most often write to, you don’t have to type in that domain name again, it will automatically be inserted for you in your e-mails.

The other settings (in this section and all other sections in the other Eudora screens) are up to your own preferences. Set them as you desire.

Sending Mail
Return address: username@ionix.net
Domain to add to unqualified addresses: ionix.net
SMTP server: smtp.ionix.net

If you have your own domain name, enter:

EUDORA LIGHT
These instructions are for Eudora Light version 1.5.4. In version 3.0.x the email settings are almost the same. Your email settings may be located elsewhere if you are using a different version of Eudora.

Getting Started
Open Eudora Light.
Click on "Tools".
Then click on "Options".
Then click on "Getting Started".

Notice the addition of pop. after the @. This will help ensure that you get your e-mail. The "pop" here is not part of your e-mail address, it only indicates the name of your incoming or pop server.

Also notice the username in the POP account does not have a 1 at the end of it. Some usernames end with a 1 or 2 and are the Dial-Up username; they are used in PPP configurations, not in e-mail or shell accounts.

You should not select Dialup, nor Offline, instead select Winsock.

Getting Started
POP account: username@mail.ionix.net
Real Name: Your Name
Connection Method: "Winsock (network, PPP, SLIP)"

If you have your own domain name, enter:
