These instructions are for Netscape Communicator version 4.61. In other versions, your email setting may be located elsewhere.
Getting Started
Open Netscape Communicator version 4.61.
Click on "Edit" then "Preferences".
Select "Identity" under "Mail & Newsgroups".
Mail & Newsgroups: Identity
The sections you will need to plug the following settings into fall under Mail and Newsgroups. If you do not see the sub-headings under Mail & Groups, click on the "+" sign in front of Mail and Newsroups converting it into a "-". You will now be able to access the necessary sections.
Identity
Your Name: Your Name
Email address: username@ionix.net
Organization: Your Organization
If you have your own domain name, enter:

Email address: username%domain.com@domain.com
Organization: Your Organization
Mail & Newsgroups: Mail Server
Select "Mail Server" under "Mail & Newsgroups".
On this screen, enter your smtp server, and pop server (incoming mail).
Incoming Mail Servers
Add..: mail.ionix.net
Outgoing Mail Servers
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.ionix.net
Select your pop (incoming mail) server and select the "Edit" button. This will take you to the "General" tab.
General Tab
In this section you can set it to remember your e-mail password so you wont have to enter it each time you check your e-mail.

Server Name: mail.ionix.net
Server Type: POP3 Server
User Name: username
Select: "Remember password"
If you have your own domain name, enter:

User Name: username%domain.com
Select: "Remember password"
POP Tab
In this section do NOT leave your mail on the Ionix server. It is stored on your computer.
POP
DESELECT: Leave messages on server
Click on the "OK" button.
This completes the setup of your e-mail settings. Quit Netscape and restart it for the new settings to work properly.

Next, click on the "More Options" button. This will take you to the "More Mail Server Preferences" window.
More Mail Server Preferences
In this section you can set it to remember your e-mail password so you wont have to enter it each time you check your e-mail.
You also set where on your hard drive you want to store the e-mail you receive.

Select: "Remember my mail password"
Click on the "OK" button.
This completes the setup of your e-mail settings. Quit Netscape and restart it for the new settings to work properly.

Getting Started
Open Netscape Navigator version 3.0.
Click on "Edit" then "Preferences".
Click on the "Servers" tab.
Servers Tab
Under the "Servers" tab you will set your servers as indicated for smtp and pop. You will include your username in the indicated box. Remove messages from our servers. You should enter the news reader server as indicated.
Mail
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.ionix.net
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: mail.ionix.net
POP3 User Name: username
Mail Directory: C:\a directory on your computer
Maximum Message Size: None
Messages are copied from the server to the local disk, then: Removed from the server
If you have your own domain name, enter:
