OUTLOOK 98
These instructions are for Outlook 98. Your email settings may be located elsewhere if you are using a different version of Outlook.

Getting Started
Open Outlook 98.
Click on "Tools".
Then click on the "Services" tab.

Services Tab
Select the following:

Services
The following information services are set up in this profile: Microsoft Exchange Server

If you don’t already have Internet E-mail set up as a service, you will have to add it. Click on the "Add" button.

After adding Internet E-mail as a service, click on the "OK" button. That will put you back into the Services screen; there highlight Internet E-mail and select "Properties". This will take you to the "Gerneral" tab.

General Tab
Under the "General" tab, name your Internet email account as indicated. Enter your personal information.

Mail Account
Type in: Ionix Internet Mail

User information
Name: Your Name or any Perosnality
Organization: Your Organization (if desired)
E-mail address: username@ionix.net

If you have your own domain name, enter:

User information
Name: Your Name or any Perosnality
Organization: Your Organization (if desired)
Email address: username%domain.com@domain.com

Servers Tab
At the "Servers" tab you will enter the name of the smtp server and pop mail server. Your account name will NOT have a period even though your email address does have one. For greater security, you can leave the password field empty and enter it when checking your e-mail.

Server information
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.ionix.net
Incoming mail (POP3): mail.ionix.net

Incoming Mail Server
Select: "Log on using"
Account name: username
Password: xxxxxxxx

If you have your own domain name, enter:

Incoming Mail Server
Select: "Log on using"
Account name: username%domain.com
Password: xxxxxxxx

Connection Tab
Under the "Connection" tab, you must make sure that network or LAN connection is chosen. Do NOT select any other choice, otherwise you will not be able to access your e-mail.

Conncetion
Select: "Connect using my local area network (LAN)"

Advanced Tab
Then click on the "Advanced" tab. Below are the default settings. Then click on the "Apply" button. Then click on the "OK" button.

Server port numbers
Outgoing mail (SMTP): 25
Incoming mail (POP3): 110

Server timeouts
1 minute

Click on the "Apply" button.
Then click on the "OK" button.

This completes the setup of your e-mail settings.

Open Outlook 97.
Click on "Tools".
Then click on the "Services" tab.

Click on the "Properties" button. This will take you to the "General" tab.

General Tab
Under the "General" tab, enter your Internet mail server mailbox information. You can enter your password now or when you check your e-mail for greater security.

Personal Information
Full Name: Your Name or any Perosnality
E-mail address: username@ionix.net

Mailbox Information
Internet Mail server: mail.ionix.net
Account name: username
password: xxxxxx

If you have your own domain name, enter:

Personal Information
Full Name: Your Name or any Perosnality
E-mail address: username%domain.com@domain.com

Mailbox Information
Internet Mail server: mail.ionix.net
Account name: username%domain.com
password: xxxxxx

Then click on "Advanced Options". Here you will enter the name of the smtp server or outbound mail server.

Advanced Options
Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server: smtp.ionix.net

Connection Tab
Under the "Connection" tab, you must make sure that network or LAN connection is chosen. Do NOT select any other choice, otherwise you will not be able to access your e-mail.

Connecting to Internet Mail
Select: "Connect using the network"

Click on the "Apply" button.
Then click on the "OK" button.

This completes the setup of your e-mail settings.
