Be sure TCP/IP is installed and configured on your computer. TCP/IP is the networking protocol that allows your computer to communicate with the Internet.
Configuring TCP/IP on a Windows 95/98 machine requires an Ethernet card (also known as a Network Adapter) with the TCP/IP protocol "bound" to the Adapter or card. For installation information, refer to the instructions accompanying your Ethernet card or PC.

Go to Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel and double click the Network icon.

Under Network Components Installed, select TCP/IP (for your Network Card). Then select Properties.

Select "Obtain IP address Automatically"

Click "OK" in this window, and the next window. When prompted, reboot the computer.

Go to Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel and double click the Network icon.

Under Network Components Installed, select TCP/IP (for your Network Card). Then select Properties

Click "Specify an IP Address". Enter the IP and Subnet Mask that was provided to you.

Click on the Gateway tab. Under "New gateway", enter the Gateway IP address that was assigned to you, and click "Add". Remove old gateway information.

Click on the DNS Configuration tab. Click "Enable DNS". Enter the following information:
209.0.104.150
209.0.104.140
Host: Type the name you want to give to your computer.
Domain: Type your domain name. If you dont have a domain name, type in "ionix.net".
DNS Server Search Order: Type the primary DNS IP address provided to you, and click "Add". Repeat this process for the secondary DNS.

Click "OK" in this window, and the next window. When prompted, reboot the computer.
